Season Four is Underway!
Hi, I'm the leader and co-founder of MusX. I created this competition because I love how Smule brings such a wonderful community together. Smule competitions are a perfect way to make new friends and learn more about singing, your voice, and even your personality.
Welcome to MusX Season 4. I have judged, mentored, and competed in Smule comps for years. I perform in Smule collabs and shows as well as in RL stage musicals and plays We wanted to apply our experience to a well structured competition where all involved could have fun and grow our talent and friendships through the process. Thank you for embarking with us on this magical journey where we encourage creativity with your entries. We have mentors eager to help with your performance, and you will get detailed scores and notes from our amazing team of judges so you can continue to refine your entries. Most of all we want this to be an enjoyable experience for all
Hey everyone! I'm Carlo and I'm excited to say this is my fourth season judging MusX! Personally, I love singing, performing, acting, audio mixing and anything creative in between. I love most genres, but Musical Theatre is my true passion, from classic dark and emotive classics like Sweeney Todd and Les Mis, to more modern musicals like Come From Away and Young Frankenstein. I often compete in comps myself, but more than that side of things I love helping competitors improve their skills and confidence via judging. You will get so much out of MusX, but only as much as you put in! Remember to pour your heart and soul into each round, think creatively, ask yourself how you can stand out from the pack and challenge yourself. Don't give the bare minimum - we will notice. ENJOY creating and being YOU and you'll have a blast. Best of luck!
Hey there! This is Deon and I'm very happy to be back as a judge this season. I was the winner of MusX Season 1. Winning MusX really boosted my confidence as a singer. This competition has helped me to be creative in terms of singing and producing my performances to the very best quality every week. It was such a fun learning experience for me and I hope it will be fun for you too! Can't wait to see what you'll bring this season. Remember to have fun! Good luck!
Hello! My name is Jenn , and I'm excited about this next season!! I've been a home care nurse for 25 years, and I enjoy writing, performing, and directing music for our community theater and doing local gigs, as well as teaching drama at a local school. I've been musically trained in voice and several instruments, and had the privilege to be a part of the Chicago Youth Symphony for several years. I've been Smuling for about 2 yrs and enjoy all genres. I look forward to this season and to hearing all of you lovely, creative people!
I am thrilled to be back for my third season as a judge for MusX. I had the honour of competing in the finals of the inaugural season. I love music in all the forms it comes in. I will let Mama Cass do the rest of the talking for me. "Make your own kind of music; Sing your own special song; Make your own kind of music even if nobody else sings along"
Hey everyone! My name is Tanya, During the midnight hours, I work as an Intensive Care RN in Detroit. I live song and hear it in my head all day/night! 😝 this is my third season as a MusX judge, however I have been in many competitions, and my best advice is to FEEL what you are singing! I have a musical background, pretty much my whole life, although not professionally. I sing for an emotional outlet, as well as write and play piano. I couldn't even give you my musical influences, because at any given time of my life, I've been inspired by so many, ranging from Bach, the Beatles, Snoop Dogg to Lana Del Rey... lol I love all genres. I'm an artist, music is a form of art. This competition is your blank canvas. Be inspired and create your masterpiece! 💕
I have been with the MusX competition from the beginning, starting off as a contestant and I’m so happy and proud to be a part of it! This is the BEST Smule comp out there! It’s a place you can be yourself, form friendships and get really fantastic feedback on your singing. About me: I love most types of music (minus the headbanger and Marilyn Manson type) and music is the way to my soul. 90’s R&B and rap are my favorite genre’s but I love love love to sing musical theatre and country! I’ve been married almost 21 years and we have a 13yo daughter. Neither of who enjoy singing - so this is my haven and I love being here! Get ready to sing!! But more importantly, get ready to have a wonderful time and form lasting friendships ❤️
This is my Second Season to participate in Musx! The first season was so much fun! This time around I will participate as a judge. Little about me: I LOVE BLUES and ROCK! I am a mom of two kiddos, and have been happily married for 18 years. I am the lead vocal for the band NoResolv, and have another cover band I sing in as well. I’m excited to hear each of your voices and what you can bring to the competition. Sing it Loud and Proud! Bring your best and don’t worry about the rest!
Hey ya’ll!! I’m Amy, but most people on LINE call me Raven. I am a lover of all types of music (except maybe Polka 😂) and I’ve been on and off Smule for 7 years now! I’ve been a competitor, judge, coach, and Comp Creator! I love every aspect! I’ve held a microphone since the age of 2 and the stage feels like home to me. I taught 2nd grade for about 10 years before marrying my husband and settling into the role of mom/housewife. It’s definitely the hardest job on earth! We have 8 children and 1 more on the way! Speaking of jobs, my most interesting one I’ve ever had was as a singing waitress. There was once a restaurant in downtown Chattanooga called the Station House located right inside the Chattanooga Choo Choo. We had a live band that would play hits from the 50s through today’s hits. Each waiter/waitress had to both serve tables and get on the stage 10-12 times a night to sing for the customers. It was such a fantastic job! Loved it! I am so excited to hear what you guys bring to this competition! MUSX Season 1 was one of my first competitions ever! This family will always be near and dear to my heart! You’re gonna love it too! Dig in! You got this! You’re gonna rock it! You betta SAANNGGG!! 🙌🏻🎙💛🎙💛🎙🙌🏻
Hi I’m Rachel, you may remember me as a judge from last season. I have been using the Smule app and competing in comps for over 3 years. In the ‘real’ world I am a singer in a band and also host open mic nights and music platforms in different locations around South Wales (current restrictions allowing). I will aim to give honest, fair and helpful critique. I love music and the journey it has taken me on and I want you to enjoy your journey too. Remember, sing to win. Good luck!
I have been "smuling" and competing in these comps for about 2 years. Outside of this I am a singer and entertainer in the UK as a second job. Performing in cabarets, theatres at care homes. I also sing at weddings, parties etc.
My claims to fame...
I've sung for royalty (🇬🇧) and I have recorded at the iconic Abbey Road studios in London
My day job is a teaching assistant for special needs pupils and I am a Mum to a little girl who is 5 and my boy 16 months old 💝💙
If i don't sing I get grumpy and banished to the other side of the house - it's my happy place
Experienced in various musical genres but I favour musical theatre, classical and choral singing.
Hi! I’m Jessi and I’m super stoked to be a judge for season 4 of MusX! No stranger to Smule comps (I’m usually in at least one at all times lol), i placed third in finals last season and it was such an incredible experience with such amazing people so I hope this season will be much the same for y’all!
Vocally, I’m a contralto that usually prefers to sing male bass (really) but on occasion also loves to belt some soulful highs. I’m a huge fan of harmonizing and hope to hear some awesome harms/layering this season in the comp!
Professionally, I am a live sound engineer and have done sound for dozens of globally touring acts including Ed Sheeran, Broods, Rozes, Pop Etc, BearHands, and others. I am also currently finishing up working on my first original track and will be recording in studio later this year.
I can’t wait to see what y’all bring to the table this season and am looking forward to hearing you guys grow and progress throughout the competition! So have fun guys and always remember: life can be too cruel to not be kind always!
Hey, I’m Zanna (Susan)! Music has always been a huge part of my life. My mom used to say that I was harmonizing, while I was still in diapers. Lol I truly love trying to find the harmonies, in every song I hear. It’s like solving a mystery.
I was in choir, from elementary to college. I was also in drill team, where timing is crucial! I play guitar and bass and enjoy writing songs. I love all different genres. I think each song has a message and should never be sung without emotion and a part of you, expressed.
I discovered Smule, a few years ago and am obsessed with it! When I sing, I’m transported to a whole new world! I have competed in several comps, coached and judged.
My husband of 30+ years and I have 6 kids, 4 grandkids and a spoiled Sheltie.
I hope each of you bring your own creative interpretation and your best effort, to each of your songs. I look forward to hearing what you have to offer!
I am 36 yo, married from 2017, leaving in Italy.
I met Smule on 2018 and it really opened my mind and my felling about singing. I started soon with competitions and I emproved so much my knowledge about harms, layering, effects trough these years, and now I am also judge in several competitions and I was been part of the judging team of SWC2020.
Meanwhile I started to study to become a real singer in 2019 and now I am approaching the professional course of studies.
Singing make me free to be myself and heal my soul sometimes. Hope you will enjoy this competition, I can't wait to listen at your amazing entries.
My name is Robin. I have been singing in Smule for 4 years and have been a member in 12 groups before founding my own group called Spirits in 2017 having 168 members with three co-leaders and two leaders. I have judged 10 Competitions and Mentored 6 Other Competitions.I also participated in SWS 2019,and was a part of the SWC2020 team. Amazing experience.
Single Mom of 4 children and a Social Worker for Mental Health and Addictions.
I believe because of my current and past experiences, because of my love for music and all that it can bring to help others reach their goals while expressing themselves musically and artistically, this will be an amazing experience.
I look forward to listening to each and every song and working as a team to make this experience a great one! Thank you for having me as a Judge. 🖤
Hey! Marissa/Rissa here! Winner of Season 2 MusX, and super stoked for this fourth season as a Mentor! I have competed and won season 2 of Musical Mania, and was a semi-finalist in Relentless Vocals! I’m an Austin, Texas girl who loves all music, but classic rock and theater are my faves! Y’all are all rockstars and I cannot wait to hear some kick ass entries this season!
Hello fellow Smulers, I am Michelle, the winner of MusX Season Three, and I'm really looking forward to helping you achieve your best in each round!
A little about me - I'm 55, originally from the US but moved to France two years ago. I have a music degree and spent the early part of my life performing and teaching professionally. Somewhere along the way I lost my enthusiasm for the stage, had a complete career 180, and stopped singing for almost 20 years. During that time I owned an apparel design business in San Francisco. I was lucky enough to retire early and the muse called me back to singing in 2018.
I've been on Smule for a few years and started doing competitions in June of 2020. I absolutely love the creative process of arranging and will do my best to give you the support, guidance, and encouragement you need to make it to the finals!
Hello everyone! I’m Grace and from Toronto, Canada. I’ve been on smule for almost 4 years. I’ve competed in several Smule comps and with the help of awesome mentors, I’ve succeeded to varying degrees of success; speaking of which, I made it as far as the semis in season two of MusX. I find pleasure in helping people find confidence in themselves, helping them tap into the potential of their voices. I will do whatever I can, team up with another mentor or mentors in order to help you with your entry. Let’s have fun while working together.
Hello! I'm Tiffany, from upstate NY (EST), and I have been singing since I was 8, with a long gap in my 20s and most of 30s before discovering Smule.
My immersion into comp life was quick and thorough! My team One Note Stand won MusX TeamZ season 1 (most recently); I've won Caption This S1, and have placed finals or Top 3 in several others, as well as the winning Mentor for King of Smule S1. I'm the Head Commissioner (ethics, training, judging, operations & a bit more) for Inspired Through Music, and have staffed and competed in countless competitions. I'm a strict judge, which makes me a better mentor, because I will advise you as a judge, not your friend who will tell you what you want to hear.
I share this so you know that I take your success seriously, and I will help you understand important things about scoring, song choice and composition, to bring out your best talent! I love mentoring because it allows me to help you BEFORE you get to scoring.
I'm recovering from wrist surgery so typing is not my friend... and typis are 😆 so grab a pen for some helpful voice memos.
Can't wait to meet you, and good luck!
Hi all😃I am Cheekee. I live in England. I'm in my 40's. I came from a family of musicians. My passion for singing started as early as the age of 5. I have an ecclectic interest in songs. I also like singing different song genres, my favourite being acoustics, rock and power ballads. The likes of BonJovi Aerosmith GNR Steelheart to name a few. I love to hear Voices singing with passion, emotion, harmonies and making a song their own. Smule brought back my love and passion for singing. In song, one joins the rank of the immortals it has been said😉 I have competed back to back in solo smule comps and been to a few semis and finals in the last 18months. This has paved the way for me to venture on mentoring and judging recently as I grew my singing skills and song creations inspired by the many diverse and talented smulers I've come to know and friends I've come to cherish, not to say the least the judges comments and mentor inputs to improve my craft. So. Here I am willing and excited to listen and inspire ya alls in developing your singing skills too..All the best guys🙏
Hi I’m Cian, I’ve been on smule now for nearly 3 years now and I mainly do musical theatre and different competitions.
I was on TeamZ as a judge and a mentor on MusX season 2 and 3. I am now happy to be back as a mentor this season!
In my real life I am a student and I am part of a theatre company in my area. We have done Oklahoma, Hello Dolly, Music Man and we were to do My Fair Lady but it was canceled due to COVID :(
Music is very important in my life, I play piano and am trying to learn guitar. I listen to a wide variety of genres and an always on the lookout for new song recommendations!
My advice to you all this season is to read the notes (make sure you don’t miss anything!) and don’t be afraid to contact the mentors for any help or advice you may need.
Good luck!!!
I am a mom in SC who works as an Executive Director for a non-profit during the day and follows her passion for music and singing once my 3 year old son falls asleep!
I have been singing since I was talking and have a degree in Opera Performance. I have been singing on Smule for about 4 years and participating in competitions for about 3. I was a semi- finalist last season in MUSX and loved being a part of this comp. I am excited to join this year as a mentor and pass on all that I learned.
I will listen and give you honest feedback because I want you to not only succeed but be proud of what you produce and submit!
