How It Works

1. Rounds will be posted in Round info in Telegram. Each round note will include:

• • A brief description

  • The cover art (can click on and download)

  • A link to a Countdown

  • The round guidelines

  • A link to request Non VIP songs

  • A link to submit your round

  • A link to view all submitted songs

2. Read the guidelines carefully!

• • There is a 10 point deduction for not matching the round

  • and an additional 5 points for each guideline not matched

3. Take a look at the rubric before singing

• • This is what the judges will be looking for when judging.

4. Record your submission

• • Most rounds require solo or group ( read guidelines to verify)

  • Pay attention if there is any rules about FXs

  • Watch for background noise! That will take away from the performance!

5. USE THE PROPER COVER ART AND HASHTAG! (Each worth 5 points)

• • Both can be found in the Round Info

  • Also check if any other information is required in your song description.

6. Close your song and make it public!

7. Submit through the submit link!

• • Find your smule ID and submit the song link

  • Once you have submitted, you cannot submit again (contact a judge if something was wrong with submitting and you need help changing it)

  • MAKE SURE YOU GET A CONFIRMATION

    • If you are unsure of it went through, check the submitted songs channel on Telegram

8. Rounds will close on midnight (11:59 PM) Thursdays (CST)

• • This will be different depending on your timezone!

  • Keep an eye on the countdown

  • The form will automatically close! You cannot submit once the deadline has passed.

  • If you are having trouble submitting or making the deadline, you must contact a judge before the deadline!

9. The next round will be announced after the deadline, (no specific time)

• • however you cannot submit that round until you know you have made it through the previous round

10. Results will be announced approx between 1 pm and 10 pm CST Saturday

• • Different depending on your timezone

  • Time is approx and can change if needed

You cannot request songs to be opened on the last day!

You must ask for the song to be closed with plenty of time (prefered 24 hours) before the deadline

1. Once a round is announced, pick a song that matches the guidelines

• • Find the song on smule

  • Take note of the title, opener, and artist listed on smule

  • Make sure it is a good version (no extra voices or sounds)

    • You can listen to songs on smule by clicking on the photo with the play button on top

    • You can also find the uploaders name that way

2. Click the link in the Round Info note to request a song

• • Fill out the information required

  • Don't forget the hashtag! (you must include the # sign)

3. If you do not get contacted by a judge or mentor in 24 hours, please let us know

• You will receive the song via Telegram or Smule

4. Sing your song

5. When finished ask the judge or mentor who opened it, to close it.

6. Submit like normal.

We highly recommend you backup your songs! If you do not backup your song, and it gets deleted, there is nothing we can do, and you will not be able to continue the competition.

1. Go to the MusX Song Bot in Telegram (link in round announcements)

2. Paste your song URL in the message

3. Send the message (with only the link! Nothing else)

4. A file will be returned that you can download

If your song is deleted, provide this file you downloaded (you can even forward the message)

PLEASE CHECK YOUR SONGS REGULARLY! IF YOU FIND IT IS DELETED, CONTACT A JUDGE RIGHT AWAY!

When you receive bonus points, they will be saved for when you need them

The last round you can use them is round 5

Bonus points will be automatically applied when you drop below the cut line
